I’m pretty confident that most of audience from the Friday night premiere of “The Adventures of Les Kurkendaal” was ready to ride along with him on his next adventure. I could tell by the number of people who hung out afterward to tell him so and say congratulations on a show that was entertaining, intimate and relatable.

During “The Adventures of Les Kurkendaal” Les shared the sometimes hilarious, sometimes awkward, sometimes downright offensive moments from a night he spent in Bakersfield, California, for his partner’s 20 year high school reunion. The audience shared quite a few laughs as Les walked us through the antics that ensued once news spread that one of Top 100 most influential people to come from Bakersfield was there, and he was gay.
Beyond the silliness that made me giggle, I really like what Les had to say about being content. Who hasn’t been guilty of wishing they had this or that that they forget to appreciate what they actually do have? I appreciated the funny and sincere reminder to be thankful.
