Preview Night for the IndyFringe Festival is always one of my favorite evenings. I sit there camera in one hand, pen and notepad in the other and a copy of the program on my lap.
I watch closely the 2 minute previews trying to make good decisions about what I will see. Every year it is a juggling act. so many perfoeramances and so little time. I usually come away wih a list of fifteen to twenty shows I really want to see. That is tough when I also volunteer ( you can too) and try to manage a somewhat normal routine at work.
But enough about me. what you really came for some suggestions to start your festival. These are just a four of the ones I thought looked awesome.
Windy Wynazz is Rich and Famous
From the moment she stripped off her jump suit to reveal a sparkly red tube top and shorts I was hooked. I am looking forward to more broad comedy, outrageous costumes and wigs and lots of laughs.
Victory for the Recycled Virgin
Storyteller Houston Roberston proudly proclaims she is “Age Advantaged”. At 79 she is feisty and funny and refers to herself as a Take Charge Bitch. I want to be her friend.
Terror on the High Seas
Les Kurkendeal is back for his second year and I am so glad. This masterful storyteller is funny, charming and unexpected as he shares his adventures being trapped on a cruise ship with his boyfriend and boyfriends very wacky family.
Haul & Oatz Time Traveling Dectives
Maybe it is because I had a thing for the original Hall and Oats. Maybe it is because they look more like the team from MIami Vice. Or maybe it is because the preview simply seemed so lighthearted and silly.
