Gratuitous Picture of ME
Okay, I’m in the picture and I‘m not in the show. When I ran into Michael on Mass Ave, gushing about how much I enjoyed his show, he gave me a big hug. One of the many beauties of the Indy Fringe is that the performers and audience are so closely entwined.
Did Not Disappoint
My first fringe show for 2015 did not disappoint. In fact I recommend buying your tickets early to avoid being disappointed. This show will sell out! Michael Burgos hits a home room in his first time at the Indy fringe. Magic comes from his ability to utilize every muscle in his body, face and vocal chords with precision. He’s part mime, part singer, part comedian, part storyteller. He’s brilliant and funny.
Michael was riveting from the first moment to the last. I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage because you never knew what might happen next.
Set at the funeral of Thomas who died from his gluttony. From an early age, Thomas was a voracious eater. He died while eating fried eggs with a very high cholesterol. He consumed 98 fried eggs a week among many other things and had a general hatred of vegetables. His “friend” and former roommate gives his eulogy, the likes of which you have never heard before. As he shares many less than flattering truths about the deceased he adds to each, “I say that with love.”
Don’t Miss This One. Sure to be Sold Out
Performed at a new venue this year for the Fringe MUH, Musicians Union Hall, on the northwest side of the intersection of Mass Ave and Delaware. It’s worth the walk just a little south and west of Bazbeaux pizza, so what’s not to like.
You’ll be sorry if you miss this one! Sure to be sold out! Michael Burgos, although a veteran of many fringes is excited to be performing in his first Indy Fringe show and I for one hope it’s the first of many to come.
